The sandwich rule counts weekends or holidays falling between two leave days as part of the leave period. For example, if an employee takes Friday and Monday off, Saturday and Sunday are also counted as leave. In our system, you can toggle the sandwich rule on or off per leave type and per location. Many Hyderabad IT companies disable it for casual leave but enable it for earned leave to prevent long unplanned absences.
